Our horses and rides are suited to the individual depending on their experience level.

For the beginner the emphasis is on a safe, relaxed and enjoyable ride on well trained horses. The experienced rider can choose a more “spirited horse” for a lively, exhilarating ride.

Before leaving, all the inexperienced riders will have the basic horse commands explained to them. Trained trail guides will be close to them throughout the ride and guarantee a safe yet enjoyable ride they’ll never forget.

We also offer the option to adopt one our horses for a month which includes weekly rides on a horse of your choice for an entire month. This option works out a lot cheaper for riders that just can’t get enough of our trails and steeds. Please see our Trusty Steeds & Adoptions section for more info.

45min-1hr Kids trail @R350pp

This is a safe and relaxed trail for younger or nervous riders to first get comfortable and relax on the horses. A short and sweet trail with beautiful forest and grassland scenery to tempt any  adventurer to return for more.  Watch this space though, this trail is evolving and will include something that only Woodifields will have to offer soon.

90min Family Experience @R450pp

A trail for any and all to enjoy at their own pace and comfort. Riders can expect to see a little bit of everything this magnificent farm has to offer. It starts with an easy ride through natural forests with the Knysna Turaco(Loerie)welcoming us with its beautiful red feathered wings between the bushes. There after riders can try a nice relaxed trot( only if you’re keen), or even a canter, between the pine plantations and end it all off with a much rewarding stroll through the open fields where you can keep an eye out for Bushbuck and Duiker inviting you to come back for more.

2hr Woodifields Deluxe @R600pp

Enjoy this beautiful trail with friends and family and actually ride on the “tip of Africa”! Let me explain 😉 What makes this ride an absolute must is the fact that you’ll be riding on the map part of the well known viewpoint, Map of Africa. On this route riders can expect meandering through one of the indigenous forests of the farm, trotting or cantering through a plantation maze and even riding on the open grasslands any rider only can dream of.

2.5hr Cowboy’s Dream @R750pp

(Make it a 3hr by bringing your own picnic for on the route-only on Saturdays)

This trail literally has the best descriptive name possible and is any horse riders dream trail. Experience the full farm experience with multiple canters on the flatlands, beautiful views over Kaaimans where you can even see all the way to the ocean and many fun trails meandering through the pine plantations. This trail is best for riders with more experience due to the distances and heights that we’ll be covering but don’t let that stop the beginners. Come for a couple shorter ones and soon you’ll be riding this one just like a pro

What to wear:

  • We have found that the most comfy gear to wear is jeans but any other long trousers or breeches will do.
  • Shorts are not recommended as the saddles might chafe your thighs on the longer rides.
  • Please make sure you wear closed shoes, boots or sneakers. No flip flops, high heels or bare feet.
  • If it looks like it may rain/drizzle bring a raincoat or a warm jacket along. (We do have 4 seasons in 1 day – be prepared)
  • Refrain from wearing jewelry or other valuables unless they fit securely as they might get lost during the ride.

What to bring:

  • Yourself
  • A few friends
  • Sunscreen – no hats or caps, we provide helmets.
  • Gratuity (tip) for the guide

  • Refrain from bringing big bulky cameras and loose bags as you have to control the horse throughout the ride.
